Old Down Country Park offers a hands-on, nature-filled experience perfect for curious minds and active learners. Just a short drive from Bristol, our countryside setting provides the ideal backdrop for outdoor learning and adventure.

Our school trip packages are designed to engage children with the natural world. Pupils can enjoy interactive animal sessions or woodland walks and take part in educational activities that support key curriculum topics. There’s plenty of space to run, play and explore, with acres of parkland, gardens and woodland to discover.

We offer flexible options for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 groups, including guided sessions, animal talks, nature trails and craft activities – all aimed at enriching your class’s learning outside the classroom. Picnic areas and undercover seating is also available, whatever the weather.

For £12 per child, the package includes:

  • Park entry for the whole day
  • Animal talk OR woodland walk
  • Dedicated area for lunch at the Crafty Cabin
  • Craft workshop (flower seeds, bird feeder ball or nature craft)
  • Free preview for visit organisers
  • Free coach parking

Arrival from 10am, with activities to end at 2pm (can use the park until close).

For every 4 children, 1 adult can come in for free. Additional adults to pay park entry.

£50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure the date.

  • Exclusive use of soft play bus for 1.5hrs, ages 4-12. £350.

T&C's

  • £50 deposit is non-refundable.
  • Final payment is made 2 weeks before the event, along with final numbers.
  • All of the trip is outside. The party will go ahead come rain or shine. If the host deems is necessary, the event can be moved under cover in the Folly or Stretch Tent (subject to availability).
  • Event will only be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions, at Head of Estate's discretion.
  • Risk assessments to be carried out by the school.
